October 10, 2025—Thousands of federal employees are worried for their financial security as the nation reached the first federal payroll since the government shutdown began on October 1. Some federal employees received a partial paycheck today, covering hours worked before the funding lapse. The next check issuance date for military service members is October 15. Furloughed federal employees receive paychecks when the federal budget is restored.
A long-term disruption in pay can place a significant financial burden on households that rely on timely and consistent income to cover essential expenses. Now, as they have in the past, many credit unions that serve government workers, the armed forces, or businesses and communities affected by the shutdown of government agencies, are stepping in to provide liquidity solutions, such as short-term, low- or no-interest loans, deferred payment options, and other emergency financial assistance. These measures are designed to bridge the gap until regular government funding resumes, helping affected individuals maintain stability and meet their obligations despite the temporary interruption in pay.
EasCorp stands with our member credit unions’ efforts to support their communities. We are pleased to offer special terms for additional liquidity support during this time. Please contact us to learn more.
